Summit Hill Flavors Awarded a Patent For Its Unique and Natural Chef's Grill® Flavor Technology

Middlesex, NJ (August 31, 2011) - Summit Hill Flavors, a member of the Activ International Group, has been issued a patent from the United States Patent and Trademark Office for its special Grill Flavor process technology. This new technology is designed to capture the real and authentic taste and aroma of grilled meat, poultry. The resulting products from this new system and its methods will offer the food ingredient and food processor industry more authentic grilled flavors currently not available in the market.

"This new technology allows us to offer the food industry with the real flavors of grilling meat, poultry and seafood that are traditionally cooked in an outdoor, open-hearth cooking preparation", said Dwight Grenawalt, Vice President and General Manager of Summit Hill Flavors. "The industry challenge has always been to develop a grill flavor manufacturing process to deliver a grilled flavor with the taste and aroma that would be more pleasing to the end consumer."

Summit Hill has combined over twenty years of meat, poultry and seafood flavor technology and the specialized technology of heat processing vegetable oils and animal fats to create the new Chef’s Grill® Flavor product line. According to Dr. Jurgen Scheide, technology inventor and founder of Summit Hill Flavors, "This new technology will not only improve on controlling the manufacturing process, but also offers more flavor formulation flexibility compared to past traditional grill flavor processing methods".  The Company also has patents pending on several processing methods from it's patented grill flavor manufacturing system.

The new products will be marketed under the Company’s Chef’s Grill® brand and will add value when used in meat, poultry and seafood products, soups, sauces, gravies, snack foods, and spice seasonings and flavor systems. The Activ International Group will market these products globally. The Chef’s Grill line of technology complies with international regulations worldwide.
